The Amgen Tour of California, known as America's most successful cycling race, opens in Santa Rosa with racers competing across a 116 mile wine country course. Race leaders will be expected to finish the course in just 5 hours. The event is free to attend.
This year, 16 of the world’s top professional cycling teams will compete in a challenging course that includes nearly 800 miles of scenic California highways and roadways. The Amgen Tour has a reputation for attracting prominent teams including our Santa Rosa-based BMC Racing Team.
The Tour is one of America's largest and most recognized annual sporting events. It's designed to test the skills of national and international competitive cyclists. An eight-day event, this prestigious cycling road race features elite professional teams and athletes from around the world. One of only two American races listed on the international professional cycling calendar, the Amgen Tour of California awards important, world-ranking points to the top race finishers.
